The Process

Please read - The service we provide is second to none with "Show class" workmanship in every piece.

1. The part (item to be dipped) is firstly prepared as in the same way as any vehicle part or panel is. Sanded, prepped, primed (plastic parts are sprayed with a plastic primer/adhesion promoter) then the chosen base colour is applied. After the drying process the part is ready for the next stage - Dipping.

2. The film design/pattern is cut to size which is much larger than the part being dipped, the reason for this is to allow the design pattern to wrap fully around the shape of the part.
The film is then floated on the surface of the heated water and the film becomes hydrated.
A layer of activator is then sprayed onto the film and the part is then dipped through the floating layer of ink.
Rinsing of the part takes place next and then it is left to dry for a few hours.

3. The next stage in the process is applying the clear coat lacquer, 2 coats of High solids 2K acrylic, in either full gloss, matt or satin depending on the desired effect, this is done in the spray booth as is all the painting stages of the process.
The part is baked for 30 minutes at 120f, some parts i.e soft plastics are left to cure at a lower temperature.

4. Final buff and polish takes place the following day and the items/parts are ready for re-fitting.

All items that have been dipped have the same durability just as any vehicle on the road today and will withstand all weather conditions.
